My friend Max put out an open call to any artists that wanted to put together mixes for his wonderful blog, Diamond Atlas. I’ve always been a huge fan of making mixes; from the earliest of times, I can remember thinking of themes, physically making tapes, or now creating iTunes playlists. I’ve made mixes hoping to gain romance, and I’ve made mixes hoping to keep romance. I’ve made mixes to help get me through hard times, and mixes to help me wallow in it. Either way, it’s something that hold a deep significance to me.
For this one, I wanted to put together something that shows where some of my influences for my latest Two Bicycles record came from. Whether its the haunting ambience of Evan Abelee or Bath’s side project, Geotic, or the tender folk of The Black Atlantic or The Tallest Man On Earth.
I also included a song from a new Two Bicycles LP that I have finished, but just haven’t quite found a home for. Hopefully I’ll be able to discuss that release soon!
